Mallia Engineering :: image of Jayaprakash VadiveluJayaprakash ("JP") Vadivelu obtained his Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Anna University (India) in May 2006 and received his Master’s degree in structural engineering from the University of Tennessee in December 2009. He earned his EIT in April 2009. After completing his Bachelor’s he obtained the opportunity to study the fatigue and seismic behavior of connections in steel and concrete structures at Structural Engineering Research Center (SERC) in India for a year before coming to the US to pursue his Masters. SERC is one of the most prestigious research institutions run by the government of India for structural engineering research. His Master’s thesis was based on the design and development of prestressed bridge I-girders with larger diameter strands. A full-scale girder was analyzed, constructed and tested for the research program, which was funded by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). JP has been working for Mallia Engineering since January 2010 where he has been designing structures of masonry, steel, and concrete.
